It’s exciting to watch something grow and that’s how the students, staff and parents at Anchor Center for Blind Children feel about the preschool program. Starting in August 2011, for the first time, Anchor Center has an afternoon preschool class from 1:15 to 3:15 for the little ones who are not quite big enough for the larger preschool environment but who are too big for the Toddler classes.  

Anchor Center structured this new afternoon class to include many of the same as activities the morning preschool partakes in including music therapy, play therapy, gardening, reading and more. 

Students like Zane, pictured on the left, seem energetic and enthusiastic about afternoon instruction and teacher Lisa says, “The kids get more one-on-one time in this setting and it allows them to gain more confidence in their surroundings while preparing them for Anchor Center’s morning preschool and beyond.”
