The Julie McAndrews Mork Building

Anchor Center for Blind Children is amidst a capital campaign to build a new teaching facility - The Julie McAndrews Mork Building - at the intersection of 26th Avenue and Roslyn Street in the new Stapleton neighborhood.

For 25 years, Anchor Center for Blind Children has served hundreds of children, the last 17 of which have been from our current leased facility on the Clayton Campus at 2550 Roslyn Street. In that time, we have outgrown our current facility. Therefore, Anchor Center for Blind Children has a new vision: a unique teaching facility designed from the ground up for children with vision loss; a facility with sensory elements, such as a garden and playground acoustics, to make learning intuitive even for children who are totally blind; a facility that will allow children to "see" the world with all the senses available to them; a facility that will be so attuned to the needs of our students that it will become a national model for the way in which blind children learn.

The Julie McAndrews Mork Building will be a teaching facility designed specifically for children with visual impairments. It will be more than just a new building; it will be a unique opportunity to make a lasting and substantial investment in the quality of life for Colorado's infants, toddlers and preschoolers with blindness.
