Anchor Center for Blind Children is pleased to offer eye exams in cooperation with the doctors at Children's Eye Physicians (CEP). The exams are performed in the Ophthalmology Examination Room at Anchor Center's teaching facility located in Stapleton.
Who qualifies for an eye exam:
- Children receiving either center-based or home-based services from Anchor Center are eligible for the Eye Exam Program.
- Young children with established vision concerns from other programs and school districts may be referred for an eye exam.
Benefits of the program:
- Your child's teachers and therapists at Anchor Center have an opportunity to attend the exam, hear the results directly from the pediatric ophthalmologist, and ask any questions pertinent to your child's learning style and educational plan.
- It allows pediatric ophthalmologists to work together and develop best practices for young children with vision impairments.
How to set up an appointment:
- Please call Linda Corssmit at 720-234-4035.
- If you have insurance, including Medicaid, a copy of your card will be made at the time of the exam, and any required co-pay will be collected. Financial support can be provided for those children without other means to obtain ophthalmological exams.
Please note:
By seeing the CEP doctor at Anchor Center, you are not limited to that practice; in fact, you are encouraged to continue with your regular doctor.
In addition, an eye exam through this program is not a substitute for specialized eye care, such as a retinal or glaucoma specialist. The CEP doctor will refer patients to specialists as needed.
