They do not spit or kick, which is better behavior than many expect out of typical preschoolers, that is why a Llama is the perfect preschool companion—at least for a day. To go along with their story for June, Is Your Mama a Llama, kids at Anchor Center for Blind Children were afforded a special visit with two llamas from Stage Stop Llamas.
Eva and Terracita displayed impeccable manners as they greeted kids in the parking lot and patiently allowed multiple brushings and petting.
“The kids were very engaged with the llamas and the llamas were equally fascinated by the kids. I felt like it was beneficial for both the kids and the llamas,” says Stage Stop Llamas operator and owner, Sally Rucker. Her lovely llamas delighted the children who were also invited to spin the wool from the animals to make a keepsake bracelet to take home.
If you are interested in meeting a llama, Stage Stop Llamas welcome visits anytime, just go to their website (www.stagestopllamas.com) for more information about their ranch and their herd.
