Tucked away near the cottonwood-lined Deer Creek, the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield served as the location for the first-ever Cherrity Pie festival on September 17, sponsored by Pie Forensics to benefit Anchor Center for Blind Children. Raising approximately $22,000 guests at this successful event saw late summer sun shining as they enjoyed an afternoon picnic of barbeque and pie while listening to live music.
Guests were encouraged to take hayrides along the nature trails and enjoyed unlimited access to two Corn Mazes. Other festival activities included a pie bake-off (where the peach pie was awarded grand prize) pie feuds, a pie-eating contest, pie relay and pie walk.
