Volunteer

The Volunteer Program at Anchor Center for Blind Children is a long-standing, active program. Our Board of Directors contribute significant hours and expertise to Anchor Center for Blind Children. For example, one member provides monthly accounting services, one member coordinates volunteer activities and assignments, and many members sit on our various committees such as the Fund Development Committee, the Investment Committee and the Finance Committee. All members of our Board of Directors are directly involved in one of our Special Events.

Volunteer Opportunities

Many opportunities exist for volunteer experiences at Anchor Center for Blind Children and we could not be as successful in offering the services and programs that we do if it were not for our dedicated volunteers.

The following volunteer opportunities are available on a regular basis:

  • Classroom volunteers - Work with therapists and teachers to help take care of siblings during infant and toddler programs
  • Spring Cleaning volunteers - Clean the center's playground, repair and assemble toys and equipment, general maintenance and upkeep; weeding in our sensory garden
  • Wish List Collection volunteers - Collect wish list items for us on a monthly basis.
  • Fundraising events - committee work. Help organize events and solicit auction items to benefit programming

Anchor Center for Blind Children has approximately 160 volunteers annually. To volunteer for any of these activities or to inquire how you can help Anchor Center for Blind Children, please contact Cynthia Wadle or Karen Cheeld at 303-377-9732, or at info@anchorcenter.org.
