On October 15 each year, people celebrate the mobility of the visually impaired around the world with White Cane Safety Day. Marked by public walks and demonstrations, this day is used to commemorate the rights of the visually impaired to be mobile, active and safe in their communities.
Trina Boyd-Pratt, a teacher for the visually impaired, helped mark the occasion by creating a video with her students that celebrates their move towards independence and mobility. The video features some former students from Anchor Center for Blind Children and can be seen here.
